In a word, we are diverse — women and men of all ages with various cultural‚ ethnic and political backgrounds. But what brings us together is one clear mission: As a forward-thinking, independent Catholic liberal arts college, we want you to become a competent, compassionate, and committed leader.
There’s something miraculous about Marygrove.
The Marygrove College community, with much enthusiasm, has committed itself to pursue an exciting Strategic Vision of Urban Leadership. This vision was developed in a collaborative process with significant input and consensus from a wide variety of campus constituencies and approved by the Board of Trustees in May, 2006.
Marygrove College, an independent Catholic liberal arts college sponsored by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, is committed to fostering Christian values, to educating students from diverse backgrounds, and to serving the people of Metropolitan Detroit and beyond.
The Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary work in partnership with the administration, faculty, staff, and boards to uphold the integrity of the IHM mission in the schools, maintain academic excellence, and keep tradition alive in each of the schools for future generations.
Marygrove College values respect for all individuals, civility, diversity, dignity, equality, and freedom. The College is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe learning, living, social, recreational and working environment. We are committed to maintaining a campus free of sexual assault, discrimination, and harassment. We strive to foster an atmosphere of healthy attitudes and behaviors towards sexuality, sex and gender roles. The College will not tolerate behavior that contributes to a hostile and inequitable learning and working environment. We take seriously our commitment to supporting those who experience sexual violence, and we work diligently on campus and with community partners on programs, policies and resources to ensure that our campus remains free from sexual violence.
The Sexual Misconduct webpage (http://www.marygrove.edu/sexual-misconduct.html) and or Policy provides quick access to the information contained in the College’s Sexual Assault Policies and Procedures. The Policies and Procedures provides step-by-step procedures and resources to support individuals and groups who may be directly or indirectly involved in working with persons who have experienced sexual assault.
Marygrove’s Sexual Assault Policies and Procedures applies to all members of the College community including: executives, governors, administrators, faculty, staff, students, contractors, suppliers of services, individuals who are directly connected to any College initiatives, volunteers, and visitors.
We urge all members of the College community to review the Policies and Procedures to learn about options and resources available to those who require support or who wish to support others. Please help us to ensure that the College remains a safe and positive space where members of the College community feel able to work, learn and express themselves in a safe environment and that we continue to foster an environment that upholds human equality.
All reported incidents of sexual assault will be investigated to the best of the administration’s ability and in a manner that ensures due process. No individual should feel uncomfortable about making a report in good faith about sexual assault that he or she has experienced or witnessed.
We recognize that sexual assault can occur between individuals regardless of sexual orientation, gender, and gender identity or relationship status as articulated in the employee and student handbooks. We also recognize that individuals who have experienced sexual assault may experience emotional, academic or other difficulties as a result of being sexually assaulted.
We are committed to:
